Our COMPEtITION Team

Swimmers who have mastered all levels of recreational practice and who have decided they want to move up through the ranks in preparation for competition, can join team.  Any recreational swimmer who has, at any point, a desire to join team, is invited to sit down with a coach and prepare an individual workout and practice plan that will help them achieve this goal.  Rec level swimmers are continually evaluated during practice for readiness to join team unless they expressly state they want to stay at the rec level.  Swimmers who join team are expected to be familiar with all the basic figures and execute them reasonably well.

Team swimmers compete regularly throughout the competitive season (January through June), which is an intense but rewarding undertaking. The goal of the team group is to prepare swimmers for the rigor of competition but never to lose sight of their love for the sport.  More intense practices are combined with team-building activities to foster camaraderie among the swimmers. The entry-level competitive step is Novice. Swimmers advance from Novice to Intermediate and then to Age-Group teams depending on skill and experience. The most advanced swimmers compete in the Junior and Senior categories.

Competitive swimmers will enter local and out-of-town competitions to showcase their talent.  AZ Synergy invests a lot of time and dedication in each of its team members and each swimmer is guaranteed a personal development plan, subject to frequent revision, that will set them up for success and develop them into the best swimmer they can be. If your athlete transfers in from another team in the area, the same process will be used to evaluate the swimmer and create an individual goal plan with the head coach.
